Stone & Pueblo

Photography Now & Then #103

After trapping a third squirrel, we decided to take a drive up into the national forest to release it. Our destination was a small recreation area on the Illinois Bayou.  Bayou Bluff Recreation Area has two camping areas, the upper and the lower, and features several shelter structures built in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).

Just north of the Wahweap RV Park, near Page, Arizona in Glen Canyon National Recreation area, is a picnic area with some unique shelters whose design incorporates aspects of ancestral Puebloan dwelling construction. The picnic area is on Lake Powel right on the Arizona-Utah state line.
