Photography Now & Then #147
When we come to Wisconsin to visit, we stay at the KOA in DeForest. Our first stay here was in 2007. The owners have continued to develop their property in the years since and it is considerably different than our first stay here.

Then: US Highway 550, about 9 miles north of Ouray Colorado, looking south towards Ouray, Colorado September 11, 2009 (Pentax K10D)
Driving into Ouray from the Uncompahgre Valley, it almost seems like Highway 550 must end at the high San Juan Mountains ahead. Ouray has been a favorite of ours for many years. We’ve stayed in lodging in town twice and in a nearby campground a third time. Past Ouray, 550 is a twisting and winding mountain road that can be very treacherous during the harsh Colorado winters.

- The Then photo is usually a randomly selected older photograph from a batch of photos specifically “curated” for Photography Now and Then.
- Each photo in this series is an “original work” – a copyright term – of Michael Goad.
- Reference links were accessed on the date the blog post was published, unless otherwise stated.
- The title convention for Photography Now & Then blog posts evolved early on from one word related to each photo separated by “&” to usually being the first word in the caption description for each photo.
